Relaxed concerts are for everyone, but they are especially designed for children, adults and families who find it challenging to go to ordinary concerts. We make small adjustments to create a relaxed atmosphere. We dim the lights, but we never switch them completely off. We don’t use theatrical smoke or strobe lighting, and we adjust the sound level, so that it is never too loud. We also have a guide which describes the whole experience from the beginning to the end.
Hamida Maryam Siro Kristoffersen from Bjarkøy in Troms made her debut with the Arctic Philharmonic in 2011 in our family opera Teskjekjerringa som prinsesse Pompadur, and in 2012 she sung Mimi in our production of La Bohéme. 2016-2019 she worked as a soloist at the Zürich Opera. She has sung at many different opera houses in Europe and at the Norwegian Opera and Ballet in Oslo. In 2013 she was the only Norwegian finalist at the Queen Sonja International Music Competition, where she won the Ingrid Bjoner scholarship and a prize for the best performer of Norwegian music.
