Dvorak’s Serenade for Strings was composed in only 12 days, in the spring of 1875. This is a work where you can hear that Dvorak was in a good period of his life when it was composed. There are sounds of spring, life and brighter times.
In Lotta Wennäkoski’s piece Culla D’aria, meaning “Cradle made of air”, the main element is rocking backwards and forwards. This music has a clear rhythmic pulse, as well as being light and romantic.
We will also hear Ilya Gringolts as the soloist in a world premiere of a work by Boris Filanovsky.
