«The spotlight falls on violinist Bjarte Eike, whose effortless technique allows him to slip easily from improvisatory style to folk and art music.»
Kate Bolton, BBC Music Magazine
Bjarte Eike has made a career of exploring and communicating folk and baroque music, and testing border lines between classical and folk music. Concerts full of energy and high-level communication are always in focus.
As artistic leader of The Baroque Soloists (Barokksolistene) Bjarte Eike has created a concept entitled The Alehouse Sessions, which explores music from English pubs in the 18th century.
For this concert Bjarte Eike will bring with him four musicians from the Baroque Soloists: Hans-Knut Sveen, Fredrik Bock, Helge Norbakken and Mime Brinkman.
They will perform music by Händel and Telemann, mixed with folk music.
