Violin virtuoso Guy Braunstein became the youngest concertmaster ever of the Berlin Philharmonic at the age of 29. After 13 years in this position, Braunstein left to pursue a career as a soloist, chamber musician and conductor. Braunstein plays a violin built by Francesco Ruggieri in 1679.
Gill Schwarzman is a solo flautist and chamber musician. She will be the soloist in Bach’s second orchestral suite for flute and orchestra.
The programme for this concert consists of Havanaise for violin and orchestra by Saint-Säens, Orchestral Suite no. 2 by Bach and Brahms’ Serenade no. 1 for 10 musicians.
